Pine and spruce trees, lush shrubs, diverse greenery, pedestrian pathways, and well-maintained lawns form the foundation of the two-level park courtyard in the HIGH LIFE skyscraper complex, located near Paveletskaya metro station.
The landscape design, like the entire project, was developed by ADM Architecture Bureau, bringing to life the idea of a private urban park with winding pedestrian paths traversing hills and slopes, secluded relaxation spots under tree canopies, as well as children’s play areas and sports zones.
Developer PIONEER is currently constructing six high-rise towers as part of the project. Landscaping of the nearly 8,000 sq. m inner courtyard for the first phase of HIGH LIFE is now 95% complete.
At the heart of the courtyard, a unique 645 sq. m children’s play area called “On the Hill” will feature grottoes, multi-level slides, and a distinctive bowl-shaped play space filled with fine white marble pebbles. Nearby, adults can relax on lounge chairs and benches.
More than 200 mature trees and shrubs, including pines, spruces, and cotoneasters, have already been planted in the first phase. The pedestrian pathways are being finished with a mix of concrete paving slabs from the Russian factory “Gothic” and light-toned natural granite tiles with a textured surface.
“The highlight of the courtyard will be a winding trail encircling the entire hill, leading to the second level of the park. The steps of this pathway are made from solid granite slabs of a rare gabbro-diabase from the Drugoretskoye deposit in Karelia,” noted Alexey Varlamov, Project Management Director at PIONEER.
At night, the park courtyard will be illuminated with carefully designed landscape lighting. In the first phase, PIONEER plans to install 220 luminaires from the Russian manufacturer “Centrsvet”, catering to various lighting scenarios. Tall 4-meter lamps with a wide light spread will ensure comfortable evening strolls, outdoor floor lamps will create a cozy ambiance by the benches, while bollard lights and ground-level spheres will line pedestrian paths.
Benches will be equipped with USB charging ports, allowing residents to work outdoors. The entire area will be covered by wireless WiFi.
Landscaping for the first phase of the project is set to be completed by March 2025. However, the full-scale 2-hectare park courtyard, featuring a birch grove, a basketball court, a workout zone, and five children’s play areas, will be fully accessible to residents after the second phase is completed in 2027.
